Checking the supports 3G frequencies of Nexus One
I bought a nexus one off ebay advertised as Next G compatiable (850Mhz). However I only seem to get 3G when connected to 3TELSTRA towers, otherwise edge. I'm suspecting that this may not be NextG compatiable after all.

Anyone know how to check if my Nexus One is a 850Mhz model?
Answering my own question.

mine is NOT NextG as I suspected. Damn....

I have started a dispute in PayPal with the goal of getting the correct model or full refund. Also getting the necessary paperwork to do a visa charge back if the vendor/paypal don't step up and do the right thing.

I have spoken to the vendor and they assured me it was a mix up. They have more NextG models arriving next week and they will exchange the unit.

So an update. It's been almost a month and still waiting on a replacement unit. The supplier received wrong stock (non nextg) and is now getting one sent priority from the US for me. Lets hope it happens. They did offer a full refund but I didn't see any other phone I really wanted. Maybe the Galaxy s when it lands on Telstra, but I like the modder community support for the nexus one.

Just a suggestion but the desire is pretty much the same thing as the nexus

I considered it. But I prefer supporting the explicit feature of allowing the boot loader to be unlocked and also I like the niose cancellation circuitry of the N1
