Upgrade finally available for the Galaxy S on Virgin Australia
I am assuming it is the 2.3 update.
Downloading file for firmware upgrade of 'GT-I9000'........ 15% ![]() 16% ![]() 17% ![]() 26% Hurry uuuuuup........ ![]() 46% ![]() 50% w00h00 100% Much time later...... Firmware upgrade in progress... 52% 75% 85% 94% 99%.................. Firmware update completed. Taking a looooong time to reboot.............................................. but it gets there in the end. Firmware version 2.3.3 and it has wiped all my home screens. Pete |

Hi Peter,
Glad you enjoyed it, about the only thing going on in this forum at the moment so I tried to make it as good as I could. Cheers. :-) Pete |

RE: Upgrade finally available for the Galaxy S on Virgin Australia
My honest question though (and I also appreciate your effort also) is - is there any point?
I'm happy with darky 2.3.4 and I'm probably going to Cyanogen for a bit shortly and from there to others - is there anything to be gained by going back to the Virgin install which I've not seen since my update to Froyo chucked the Optus package onto my phone. ![]() Miui Scotland - Weekly V4 |

Well yes because the Virgin version is pretty much plain jamne, unlike the Optus version that has some rubbish added in.

Just through it on mine, the interface etc isn't radically different but my phone is so far running much snappier & smoother then the virgin froyo.
