Galaxy S2 & iTunes Library
Hey all,

I just switched from a HTC Desire to a Galaxy S2 (both of which are equally as awesome, but the SGS2 more up to date in specs, speed & support).

I have the urge to buy myself a 32GB MicroSD card and put my entire iTunes library on there... So tempted, but I want to get a few things sorted before I pay over 100 bucks for a huge memory card.

So here's my two questions:
  1. I've put about 150 songs on my 8GB MicroSD (which won't fit even a third of my entire library) and I have had some trouble with artist & album names etc. - I never had this metadata problem with my HTC Desire, so has anyone else noticed the metadata not playing nice? Is there a fix?
  2. Some people have mentioned 32GB MicroSD cards not playing nice with Android phones - any information on this? Best Class & Brand?

Thanks for any help, have a great day!

That was possibly the least helpful and most cliche reply I have ever seen on this forum.

I hope you're proud of yourself.

Only metadata issue I've had (this is on a Galaxy S1) is that when I've no embedded thumbnail it sometimes seems to grab a random thumb and associate it with the mp3. Kinda funny having a podcast from The Guardian which has a pic of some hottie in a bikini displaying whilst it plays. Smile

I've been filling out metadata quite conscientiously of late and most thing have worked well for me.

No comments on itunes - avoid it like the plague personally but that is probably my anti-Apple bias showing. Smile

RE: Galaxy S2 & iTunes Library
I do understand the hatred for iTunes, it is terrible in so many ways, one of which being it's by Apple Tongue, but it's by far the most convenient way for me to get and play my music on my computer.

I was a little snappish this afternoon, my apologies Harvz. No excuses - it was rude of me, sorry!!

I think I'm going to just buy the card and then play around with apps that may get all my album artwork etc, if all fails, I shall spend many hours manually sorting 4300 songs and their metadata. :/

Thanks for your responses!

nah it was fair enough, it was a shit reply. was going to write more but then boss came over and just hit post.

as for itunes, I use winamp and its has a great app for the phone and wireless sync, there is also a one click import from itunes to get your libraries.
not sure how you have your music set up but i have it all in a folder called music and then sub folders inside that, then when i get more music just tell winamp to scan the music folder for new stuff or drag the folder into winamp and it adds it.

as for the SD card i have never used a 32gb in the phone but have got many cards off ebay and found the work really well, just saying this as they are around $50-$60. i got a 4gb that even shoots hd video without missing frames.
Im not sure where about your from but if you dont want to chance it on ebay have a look at computer parts stores, i know CPL has a 32GB sandisc for $85
