nexus s - no android market displayed fixed
Hello I tried to work this out over the last week of owning this phone and couldn't for the life of me work it out.
I bought a vodafone nexus s outright and there is no android market app displayed anywhere. When I go to manage apps I can find it and when I try to open it it says "this file is not executable".

I assumed that when I added my gmail account to the phone the market may appear. So I tried this, get to the part saying connecting to the google servers this may take up to 5 minutes then it says "can't establish a reliable data connection to the server".
I have tried on wifi with full reception and 3g not moving around, still no luck
So I had two problems and it would appear many others are looking for help on the net for the same thing..

The browser works fine and I was able to manually go into gmail and download apps from third party providers off their websites.

So the fix. I reset the phone
menu>settings>privacy>factory data reset
and when it rebooted and requested my gmail account I entered it in the introductory part when it prompts you to create or login or skip(i think)
.
Please note I didn't have a gmail account before and skipped this part.
I didn't want to create one on the spot because I wanted to think of a professional name for the address that I could one day use in a job application Smile. I think this is where it has a bug. You can never login after this stage I found.
Thats it.

Everything then worked perfectly, a few other apps showed up as well (youtube & weather info which worked whereas before it just said "loading..." forever).
