Sooo .. I got a mac

Good pickup. My girl has a specced-up 15-inch MBP from the current generation, and it's a great machine. I took it with me when I did some overseas travel for work, and found it easy enough to write my articles on, manage files, etc.

The thing is, I only found it 'easy enough' - not better, not easier. I've got no complaints about OSX, but after using it every day for three weeks, I think I'm far enough past the "you just need to spend some proper time with it!" stage to know whether it's for me or not. I also used one every day at school (my background is in graphic design, so of course my school loved Apples).

It's certainly not a problem with not understanding it; like all of you, using a computer is second-nature to me, and any of the OSX-specific tricks I didn't know, didn't take me long to find online.

So, yeah. I like OSX, but I'll stick with Windows. Neither are flawless, and Windows is absolutely nowhere near perfect, but it's definitely the one for me.

I'm very happy to say "each to their own," though. I don't feel like anyone who prefers OSX is an idiot. It's just a matter of preference.

You're right about the polished feel, though. Both the UI and the hardware of are stunning. I really like Windows 7, but I had to theme it a bit and tweak some things before I was happy with how it looks.

The new range of Ultrabooks are pretty nice though, as far as the hardware of Windows systems goes.

Yeah .. I am certainly not an apple fan boy .. I will always use android phones and tablets .. but for computer hardware I am pretty much sold on mac .. since first posting this I have replaced my old windows / linux studio machine with the new mac mini up specked to 8gb of ram .. love it! runs my dual 22 inch sammy's quite nicely.

I'm going to buy Mac Book Air 11,6 soon but I just can't help thinking that I'm going to waste a lot of money.
I guess I should buy it anyway, or otherwise I will not stop dreaming of it
