Asus Transformer Prime
Hello,
I'm a student who is in the need of a good tablet.
I have researched a lot of tablets and the Asus transformer appealed the most to me. I was ready to buy it, until I saw that a newer version is coming out!

At first, android didn't seem to be the right choice due to the lack of any decent note taking app on the market, HOWEVER, I read the details for the prime, and its included free software... and theres this awesome as app called SuperNote! I think life is getting better each day haha!

From what I've gathered, the Prime is going to be exceptional, and ideal for a student like me. 8 mp camera, slick design, lightweight, It'll be fantastic.

I don't know much about SuperNote and if it will be able to be used as a sheer handwriting app. - I would like to handwrite on the tablet most of the time for things such as maths, chemistry, etc. But for essays and notes off the whiteboard, I'd use the keyboard.

If anyone has used supernote and is aware of its true capabilities, please fill me in! Also, I am interested in buying either Dagi P602 or Adonit Jot/Jot Pro stylus for the Prime. Don't know which one is better though. Any ideas?

My main question however, is.. when is the prime going to hit Australian stores? And any estimated price for 32gb and/or 64gb including the keyboard?

RE: Asus Transformer Prime
it was the best of the tegra 2 tablets and i think the prime will be another top tablet. So far there is no news when it will come out here. it looks like no USB on the tablet itself (which seems silly to me) but there will be a at lest one USB slot on the keyboard dock.

Price: $US500 for 32GB, $US600 for 64GB, $US150 for dock
or if you dont need the 4 cores.
$US300 for the 16GB version and $US350 for the 32GB for the original tegra 2 version.

im not sure about math note taking apps but there is lots of hand writing apps out there.
but for typed note i would look at things like thinkfree office and quick office as they use Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, and PowerPoint so it will be more comparable if you need to use a computer or there is always Google Doc if you have an internet connection.

Samsung Galaxy S: CM9
Viewsonic G tablet: Gtabcomb 3.2beta

Damn, what do you think... before next year?

Yeah, so i guess the Aussie prices will be similar... nice.

The only half decent one i have found is pen supremenacy or whatever it is, but never seen it in action.

Has anyone actually tried SuperNote here?

Well prime comes with polaris so word processing is not a worry Big Grin

Oh and any thoughts on the dagi/adonit styli?!

https://market.android.com/search?q=Supe...o=1&c=apps

im not sure which one it is.i installed the free one for a bit but does not seem like anything fancy. just a note taking app. no handwriting.
you will get more of an idea once its out.

there is a few handwriting apps out there
https://market.android.com/search?q=hand...o=1&c=apps

again once you have it or any android just try them and see what you like.
try the free ones first but there is also a 15min return policy on apps so you can download a payed one it give it a try and return it and it wont cost you a thing.

about the styli i cant help there never used one or know anyone that has them.

RE: Asus Transformer Prime
Oh, well SuperNote is asus specific i believe. Can't download from the android market.

Yeah, but not the best... Pen Supremacy seems to be the only decent one, will try it out when i get prime.

No problem, ill just buy both Smile

Apparently the 64gb version will cost 1000+ in Australia??? Do you reckon buying from US via ebay or something is risky in terms of ... like returns/warranty/servicing?
