Need help with my phone

Hello all
I purchased an android phone from china , the so called model is a A5 and its running a MT6516 chipset Android V2.2.1 I would like to upgrade the os to V2.3 Gingerbread but am not sure as to which rom to get . Would anyone know ?

To the best of my knowledge the best starting point would be Cyanogen Mod, I get the impression that they have the best cross section. At least as a starting point.

I did a quick google search but didn't come up with any obvious links or roms.
