Very interested in buying a Android phone!

Hey guys first time here on the forum!

As the title says I am quite interested in an Android phone which I will intend on buying soon. My budget is around $300 and I know my self that the price range is not for the latest specs... hehe But anyways I have been doing some research and I find that the Nexus S is my choice via Vodafone and having it unlocked or some have said "is" already unlocked. Im here to ask you guys on your opinions and to show me some other models around this price range. As I am quite familiar with technology I understand that it advances way too quickly causing the latest models to drop in price. Therefore are there strong competitors that will most likely come out in the near future that would cause the latest to drop in price? Im just looking for something that may future-proof myself but otherwise I am definitely fine with this Nexus

Nexus S is about equal with the Galaxy S and I'm well happy with that 15ish months on from getting it.

That said, the most important thing about the phone is what you want to do with it.

IF your needs are basic then the Nexus S or similar are fine but if you are wanting a phone which can do more intensive things, gaming and the like, then you might want to consider laying out the extra dosh for a Galaxy S2 generation phone. The cost will be somewhat more but if your needs are at that level then it will be worth it for the better future proofing. If I was buying a phone now I'd probably go the SGS2.

Nexus S is a cool phone. I have been using it since 8 months from now and don't think the prices will drop down so soon as its been in huge demand in market these days.
