Welcome to the Root & ROM forum
Welcome to the Root and ROM's Forum!
If you have come to this forum then its clear you want more from your phone and you have come to the right place! Here is where you will find how to root your phone. Not to be mistaken with Australian slang, you get an all access pass to your phone. You will also find information on the latest ROM's being released out there. A myriad of patches which improve the stock speed of your phone as they are doing amazing things with the ext2/3/4 filesystems these days. A couple of things we suggest is to update your signature on these forums to tell us what phone you have. This can be done at your user control page. An example would be: desktop OS version | model | phone OS version| baseband version | user interface | patches Secondly before you go ahead and update anything, suggest you benchmark your phone This will give you an idea if your improvements have helped. See the performance thread on how to do this and record your results there. Above all enjoy yourself and don't be afraid to ask any questions. We are a friendly bunch and are only too happy to help you get the most out of your phone. If you can't find what you are looking for here, you may find the links provided below a useful resource. If you have any others you would like to add then reply to this message with suggestions. If you have some feedback on this post please PM me. RE: Welcome to the Root & ROM forum
Good resource post, stickied
You might like to add some technical detail about what 'rooting' is, ie. similar to administrator access in windows; it allows you write access to /system; and it also means you can do damage to the o/s if you start modifying files indiscriminantly
