RyanZa's OCLF 2.0 is in the Android Market!
*** UPDATE: DO NOT USE VERSION 1 OF THE LAG FIX THAT IS INCLUDED WITH THE OCLF 2.0 APP. PEOPLE, INCLUDING MYSELF, HAVE HAD PROBLEMS UNINSTALLING IT. ONLY USE VERSION 2 AFTER YOU HAVE INSTALLED EXT TOOLS, NOT VERSION 1 ***

It looks like this will root your sgs and apply the lag fix for you. Has anyone installed it directly from the Market? If so, how did the whole process go and is it working well?[/b]

Okay, so I decided to be the bunny and run it myself! It is really cool Smile It makes rooting and lag-fixing really easy Smile It also has some great tools, including one to restore the boot animation (mine is now working again) and various other tweaks for managing ram, i/o, etc. I'll report back if I have any problems.

@techHead can you explain this a bit more, and maybe link to the developers site? Are you saying this is like unrevoked, for the galaxyS with some patches that fix the UI lag?

HTC HD2 running Custom Froyo
HTC Desire rooted, S-Off, AuraxTSense 7.8.1
Kernel uv/oc 2.6.32 for Sense Roms

update: the phone seems to be running a lot faster .. rooted the phone .. seems it will not let me run the lag fix unless I have more then 40% battery .. so I plugged it in and it still will not yet let me run it .. giving it a bit of time to see what happens.

impressed so far.

update: its letting me run lag fix now .. when its done I'll run quadrant and post my results.

lag fix installed ..

quadrant score before lag fix 922

after lag fix : 2126 ..

I am soooo freakin impressed with this app.. just amazing!

Unless you have a Galaxy S mate, just ignore the whole post! Looking at your signature it seems you have an HD2 and a Desire - it's not compatible with those phones!

Hey Peter, it's a nifty little app alright. Your youtube link took me to a 11 minute tutorial about different ways of using recovery mode?? I'm guessing it's the wrong link. This OCLF app being in the Android Market is a massive plus and a big tick for google's decision to go open source! You aint ever gonna see a jailbreak app in apples store. lol.

Just ran a Quadrant bench and got 2147!

Glad you like the oclf app Peter Smile I'm running the strict setting on minfree and have set the disk scheduler to deadline. I also like that I can check the free space in the ext2 partition.

Mate, while you're at it, jump into Samsung Apps and grab the updated task manager - it has level 1 & 2 ram clearing - very sweet =D I usually only use level 1, as it frees up heaps when you need it! Today must be the day for awesome tool releases.
