Does custom firmware carrier-unlock the phone?
Hey,
We've got a Telstra-locked phone that we want to use on another network. If I root the phone and then flash another ROM on to it, will it then work on any network? Or do I have no option but to call and pay Telstra (I think I'm more upset about talking to Telstra than I am about giving them money) It's a HTC Wildfire. Cheers, James |

RE: Does custom firmware carrier-unlock the phone?
Hi James,
It doesn't look like flashing to a different rom has worked for people. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=722901 your best bet is going to be those websites like htcsimunlock.com or something unfortunately until someone figures out how to software unlock them. Phone: SGS ROM: Ryyuu's EDB v1.3 Kernel: Dark Core Modem: XXJVQ |
