Froyo is HERE!!!
Even though many of us having been running JPK for weeks, the official release seems to have happened. Lets hope that Optus get it out soon Smile

You can actually download the JPM source from samsung here

http://opensource.samsung.com/ - search for i9000

or just get the rom from

http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-i9000.htm

There is a JPM and JP6, i have heard conflicting stories about which is newer.

May update in the next few days if optus doesn't look like it is coming to the party

RE: Froyo is almost here!
I'm interested to know if Samsung have addressed their shocking I/O blunder (i.e. the lag issue) within the froyo release - any idea??

Google Nexus One @ froyo [2.2.1]| Huawei IDEOS u8150 @ froyo [2.2]| HTC Wildfire @ eclair [2.1-update1] | emulator @ whatever

Android releases:
- WeatherCell.net Australia BETA
- SnowCell.net Australia Ski Slopes

RE: Froyo is almost here!
I doubt it.
Reports are already surfacing stating that it is still laggy. Just a little bit smoother. Some are even stating that Éclair with OCLF was more responsive than Froyo with OCLF.

JPM is the base image, JP6 is a region release (nordic).

"Conclusion: JPM seems to have a better xT9 support, but JP6 seems to have newer applications (if newer means larger...)"

RE: Froyo is almost here!
hahah. Sorry about that. I'm running JPK and I'm almost certain that they would not have fixed the lag issue with this new "official" release.

It'll be a little bit quicker, but certainly not lag free. In my opinion anyways. I will certainly retract my statement if it is in fact fixed.
