[APPMOD]Google Maps Nav
So google Nav is still not allowed outside the US.

Lucky for you, there is a way around this.

Features:
worldwide navigation using Google Maps Directions
map tiles caching on SD card
force-enable MT. If you're on Eclair or some custom Donut and don't have multitouch zooming, then maybe this will enable it.
force-enable Buzz feature
fix for map shift issue in China
option to hide zoom buttons
installable on non-rooted devices
could be installed beside original app

Download:

http://ausdroid.net/forum/attachment.php?aid=6

Installation:

Just download & install. Then you will have both original and modded maps installed at once. If you want to have only my version, check section below.

Uninstallation:

Like any other app.

Uninstallation of original maps:

You must have rooted device to do it:

Code:
adb remount
adb shell "find /system /data -name *com.google.android.apps.maps.apk* -o -name Maps.apk | xargs rm"
adb uninstall com.google.android.apps.maps

Viola!

You should now have Google Voice Nav on your Android phone!

Just installed, works a charm.

I haven't used [Brut]Maps for a while.

RE: [APPMOD]Google Maps Nav
So does this add the navigation into the default installed Google Maps or allows you to use the Navigation app from the market or replace [brut] or none of the above or something different?

RE: [APPMOD]Google Maps Nav
it installs it next to the default maps app. So you will have two maps apps. Which is why there is instructions to remove your original maps app. (which can be re-downloaded from the marketplace)

RE: [APPMOD]Google Maps Nav
It's a seperate app from the default Google Maps.

it's Google Maps, that's been 'hacked' to allow Google Nav outside of the UK & US.

So you'll have 2 map apps installed.
