Google says it will fix a mobile phone bug that mistakenly sends text messages to the wrong people. Only small number of android phones have been affected.

Is it really a small number of phones affected ? as it would be serious issue in my opinion if it was more wide spread.

Saw this happen at work. A guy send a message intended for his fiancee and it wound up going to his (female) lawyer...

I hypothesise that the root cause of the problem comes from threading + ListViews and the use of tags that specify which recipient a View in the list is tied to.
